Here is an interesting article by Michael Pinto at PBS on the future of the Internet. He claims the biggest shift over the next ten years will be one of attitude. Consumer will "be online" as opposed to "going online". Another interesting fact he points out, if by 2016, no one under the age of 40 will remember a world without personal computers.

Perhaps you mean "no american person..." I'm pretty sure that a few people will still be trying to get water regularly at that time.
